Dunwell Insights

Clear answers from your own sales data.

Your shop already records every sale. I turn those records into a clear answer: what changed, what the evidence supports and what to do next. You receive a written report with recommendations, not a dashboard you have to interpret yourself.

What you get

Every report follows the same clear layout.

01

One-page summary

The answer to your question and the top actions, on a single page you can read in two minutes.

02

Short written report

What changed, the factors associated with it, your customers and products, and the limits of the evidence. Every chart title states the finding.

03

Metrics sheet

Your key numbers in a spreadsheet, so you can check them and track them yourself.

04

Up to five ranked actions

Each with the effort required and an estimated value, so you know where to start.

05

Optional walkthrough

A 30-minute call to go through the findings, or questions answered by email if you prefer.

+

Live dashboard (extra)

A private dashboard built from the same code as your report, like the one in the sample. Quoted separately.

What I analyse

The drivers of your revenue.

Sales and order value

When sales grew, stalled or dropped, and what moved them: more orders, bigger orders or different customers.

Products

Which products drive revenue, which are declining, and which first purchases lead to repeat orders.

Repeat buying

How many customers come back, how quickly, and what a returning customer is worth to you.

Customers at risk

Regular customers who have gone quiet, ranked by value, so you can follow up before they lapse.

Seasons and timing

Seasonal peaks and troughs, and whether customers acquired at peak times behave differently.

The next 12 months

In Forecast and Plan: a forecast with low, likely and high cases, and a sheet to test changes yourself.

From the sample project

Real charts from a real shop's data.

See every chart

Customers won in the autumn rush come back less often

Share of new customers who ordered again within 180 days, by the month they first bought. Autumn months in green.

Customers with bigger first orders come back more

Share of new customers who ordered again within 180 days, by the value of their first order.

The process

From your brief to your report.

  1. Brief

You choose a package, describe your shop and your main question, and share your data privately. I check that the data can answer it. A call is optional.

  2. Scope and payment

I confirm the question, what you'll get, the price and the target date in writing. Growth Checks are paid upfront once I've checked your brief.

  3. Analysis

The clock starts when your data, the agreed scope, payment and a start date are all in place. A Growth Check takes about 7 business days.

  4. Report and review

You get the report and have 5 business days to send one list of questions or changes. If I've made a mistake, I fix it free.

  5. What next

An optional walkthrough, then either ongoing monthly analysis or a follow-up review after three months.

How I work

Professional tools. Plain answers.

I use the same tools as professional data teams: SQL and Python to clean and join your data, statistical tests to tell real changes from noise, and forecasting models where the data supports them.

Every report is built from code, so the numbers can be checked and repeated. When a simple rule works as well as a complex model, I use the simple rule. In the sample, a rule using two signals found at-risk customers as well as a 12-signal machine learning model.

I don't promise growth. I report what your data shows, explain it clearly and recommend what to do. The decision stays with you.

Your data

How I handle your data.

  1. Data minimisation

I ask only for the fields the analysis needs. Personally identifiable information (PII), such as names, emails and addresses, isn't needed for most questions, so it stays out.

  2. PII removed before analysis

If an export does include PII, I remove it or replace it with a customer ID (pseudonymisation) before any analysis starts.

  3. Secure storage and deletion

Each client has a private, encrypted folder with two-step sign-in. Files are never sent by email or put into an AI tool without your permission. Your data and working files are deleted within 30 days after the job closes, and your final deliverables stay available to download for 90 days.

  4. A written data agreement

Where I process personal data for you, we sign a data processing agreement that sets out each side's responsibilities under UK GDPR. Details are in the service terms.

Questions

Before you start.

Which platforms do you work with?

Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Stripe or a spreadsheet. If you can export your orders, I can usually work with them.

What data do I need?

An orders export with order dates, order values, products and a customer ID, plus a product list if you have one. Names, emails and addresses aren't needed. Up to 24 months of history works best. I'll tell you exactly what to export after your brief.

How long does it take?

A Growth Check takes about 7 business days from when your data, scope, payment and start date are in place. Forecast and Plan takes about 14.

Do I need to book a call?

No. Everything can be handled by email. A call is available if you prefer.

What if my data is messy?

Basic data cleaning is included. If it needs more than about an hour, I'll pause and agree the additional work with you first.

Will this grow my sales?

No analyst can honestly guarantee that. I show what your data supports and what's worth testing, so your decisions rest on evidence.

Have a question about your sales?

Send a short brief with your question. I'll confirm whether your data can answer it and reply by email with the scope and next steps. There's no obligation.
